Terms of use

Last updated 17 October 2026

These are the rules for using Catch Report (catch-report.co.uk), run by Rob Hill in the United Kingdom. By making an account, you agree to them. They're written to be read, so please do.

Your account

Price

Catch Report is free during early access. We may introduce a paid plan later. If we do, we'll tell you at least 30 days before. You'll never be charged unless you choose to pay, and you'll always be able to export your catches first.

Community rules

Be the kind of angler people like sharing a bank with. Don't post anything that is:

The admin can remove posts and comments that break these rules, and can close an account for serious or repeated breaks. If you see something wrong, email [email protected].

Fishing safely and legally

The weather, rig guides, bait ideas and insights are there to help, but they're guidance, not guarantees. You're responsible for having a valid rod licence and the right permits, following fishery and club rules and the law, looking after the fish, and keeping yourself safe near water. Weather and location lookups come from free public services and can be wrong.

Keeping things running

We work hard to keep the app working and your logbook safe, with regular backups. But it's a small, independent app, so we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Export your catches now and then (My account → Export) for your own copy. We may change, add or remove features. If we ever close Catch Report, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice to export your data.

Our responsibility to you

If we break these terms, we're responsible for losses you suffer that were a foreseeable result. We're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for business losses: the app is for personal use. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law doesn't allow it, including death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or your legal rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If it's a big change, we'll tell you in the app or by email first. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
